New V2 hard covers are designed to hug around the edges of your original gas door for a snug fit. V1 is just a flat soft carbon overlay that covers the surface, and does not wrap around the edges.
The backside is tape. Mock test fit to understand the best way to install. Clean area with alcohol and let dry, heat up tape, press firmly and hold for 60 seconds. If possible, use a tape exposure trick by only exposing the tape partially, making sure it is lined up correctly, and then gradually expose more tape while applying pressure. Ceramic Coating is always recommended for all carbon fiber parts, especially exterior. Ceramic Coating helps prevent fading, scratches, and more. It may need slight modification to fit properly. Some issues are inevitable such as blemishes, chips, dents and scratches which usually occurs in transit. It is not possible for the cover to go around the edges and you may see the edges, please allow about 1cm in size error.
